China cry by nora lam6/24/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() While short, the album makes adequate background material for other tasks, but falls short of the dynamism that would qualify it as interesting listening material rather than just atmosphere. FULL China Cry, The Nora Lam Story, Christianity During China's Cultural Revolution. Overall, it's a basically OK score, but nothing particularly special or original (except, perhaps, in the use of real live players rather than sampling keyboards). Much of the music is broken down into two thematic structures - "No One But You" ( Irene Cara turns in her usual sterling work on the vocal version) and "Spirit In the Wind," both of which are merged and crossed in various suites and cues. China Cry The story of Sung Neng Yee (Nora Lam) who calls out to God in her persecution and sees miracles happen. China Cry is the amazing true story of Nora Lam or Sung Neng Ye as she was called in China. The soundtrack album is fairly typical in that the music leans toward simple anthems as thematic material, building most of the score on straightforward Western musical ideas with sweeping strings, soaring brass fanfares and dynamic piano. ![]() China Cry is a Christian-oriented movie based on the survival story of Nora Lam, who fled Communist China after the government in power destroyed her family and her life. ![]()
